The independent team NASA and Boeing formed to look into Starliner's failed flight to the ISS is done with its investigation. And based on NASA's announcement, they have a pretty lengthy list of changes to make before the spacecraft can start ferrying astronauts to space. The joint review team ended their investigation with 80 recommendations for NASA and Boeing to address, with the most notable suggestion being the performance of end-to-end tests using the maximum amount of flight hardware before each flight.
One of the main reasons why the Starliner's first flight failed was because Boeing divided its tests in small chunks instead of conducting a longer one that simulates the whole process from launch to docking. As a result, the aerospace company didn't discover that the spacecraft's onboard computer time was miscalibrated by 11 hours, preventing Starliner's thrusters from firing and sending it to the correct orbit. In addition, Boeing didn't test the Starliner's software against its service module. The company used an emulator, which ended up being flawed, and didn't discover a critical software defect that could've led to "loss of vehicle."
According to NASA Spaceflight, NASA Commercial Crew Program manager Steve Stich also determined that the agency wasn't able to provide Boeing with sufficient oversight. That allowed multiple issues, particularly software problems, to remain unnoticed. While NASA didn't list all 80 recommendations, it enumerated some of the more important ones, such as addressing any identified simulation or emulation gaps, increasing the involvement of subject matter experts in safety critical areas and making organizational changes to the safety reporting structure.
NASA and Boeing are hoping to redo Starliner's uncrewed test flight to the ISS later this year. While the repeat flight doesn't have an exact date yet, The Washington Post previously reported that they're aiming for an October or a November launch.
Long story short, Boeing tried to do the testing on the cheap and rush it through and really ended up screwing the pooch.
Is the person running this a diversity hire or something?

Alexander Vindman, a key witness in House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump, announced his retirement from the U.S. military on Wednesday, blaming Trump for shortening his military career.
Vindman, a Purple Heart recipient in the Iraq War, had worked at the National Security Council (NSC) and heard the telephone call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in July which Democrats claimed Trump coerced his counterpart to interfere in the 2020 presidential election by launching investigations into Joe Biden. So now Tammy Duckworth (D- Ill Hates America) is left holding the bag. Nice play, idiot

In the higher country of Colorado, it usually doesn't spike into the 90s regularly until mid-end July. It has been hotter than normal this year and was dryer than normal this winter. Which is a normal cycle as it was colder last year with a wetter winter.
[SiberianTimes] Abnormally cold weather has been recorded in the north of Yakutia with residents of Verkhoyansk district waking up to fresh snow on 5 July.
Just days before that, locals were complaining about the hot and dry beginning of July, with air temperature heating up to +27C on 1 July, and wildfires raging.
Earlier, on 17 June this district saw a world record for the Arctic of 38C. nice pictures at the source

I heard some places (Sochi?) hit 50C. That's just insane.
[PJMedia] Despite the recent spike in COVID-19 cases, deaths have continued to decline and may soon reach a level where the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague) ...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men... will no longer qualify as an epidemic under CDC guidelines.
A disease outbreak qualifies as an "epidemic" by the CDC when the number of weekly deaths caused by the disease exceeds a certain percentage of overall deaths, explains Daniel Payne of Just The News.
According to the CDC, "Based on death certificate data, the percentage of deaths attributed to pneumonia, influenza or COVID-19 (PIC) decreased from 9.0% during week 25 to 5.9% during week 26, representing the tenth week of a declining percentage of deaths due to PIC." If the percentage continues to decline, it is likely COVID-19 will lose its classification as an epidemic in the next few weeks.
Some might scoff at the idea that deaths will continue to decline, but it’s been 22 days since COVID-19 cases started to spike and there’s been no spike in deaths.
Considering this data, it seems likely that deaths will continue to decline as it is mostly younger people getting infected, and treatments have also improved. A recent large-scale study conducted by the Henry Ford Health System also found that despite past reports and fearmongering by the media, hydroxychloroquine reduces the death rate of COVID-19 by more than half.

what element of American industry wants to remain in a decaying city?
When the hipness factor is outweighed by the unrest, crime, taxes and cost of real estate, businesses will move on. Trendy addresses have always been considered a good recruiting characteristic. Some businesses will die on that hill.

You have to wonder whether there is some natural limit to the number of corporate headquarters Dallas can accommodate.
But hey, if she really wants Seattle to be an island of communism then (1) she's got to build a wall around the city, uh, to prevent jealous non-Seattleites from entering and (2) Seattle has to have its own currency. Let's call it "the Sawant" and let it float against all major currencies. By the end of the year the exchange rate will be 10 million Sawants to the dollar.

Of course, you have to be a special sort of idiot to think that any of that involves skin color.

[WashExam] - ...There are two different things to consider when developing a forecast. For one, modern economies are horrendously complex things, taking centuries to develop. Interrupt them, and we get knocked back years, or potentially decades, and have to rebuild all over again. The other is that the economy stops dead pretty much every Friday night, and we've no great problem starting 'er up again Monday morning. Ultimately, the longer the recession lasts, the more likely we are to have permanent damage, putting us closer in line with 1929 than 1920. An eminent economist is one who can explain why his forecasts didn't work out.
...My own view is that the structure of the U.S. economy accounts for these results. Largely capitalist, largely free market, it's more adaptable than most others. We are seeing, as far as I can tell, a swift recovery from that lockdown-induced recession. It's great news because it means we're all slowly getting richer again as we creep out of the ditch. Enlightened self-interest works (of course the current era is a bit short on enlightened)

Zero Hedge has been predicting this going back many years. Might hit it right someday if it is done often enough. Every blind squirrel finds a nut occasionally. Thought we were just coming out of the COVID-19 recession.
[PJ] In a speech at the Minnesota State House on Tuesday, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) called for the "dismantling" of America’s "economy and political system" in an effort to root out "oppression." She insisted that any wealth disparity between blacks and whites is the result of oppression and urged her fellow Democrats to "tear down systems of oppression" in various sectors of American society.
Omar began her remarks by attacking Minnesota Republicans for refusing to pass the Democrats’ radical criminal justice reform bill, and then moved on to other claims of "systemic racism."
"We can’t stop at criminal justice reform or policing reform for that matter," Omar said. "We are not merely fighting to tear down the systems of oppression in the criminal justice system, we are fighting to tear down systems of oppression that exist in housing, in education, in health care, in employment, in the air we breathe."
"In America today, white families have 42 percent more wealth than black families," she argued. "We are speaking to the fact that homeownership rates are nearly twice as high for white families than they are for black families."
Omar also argued that "environmental racism is real," claiming that black people suffer worse than white people when a natural disaster hits. She noted that the coronavirus pandemic has done more damage in the black community. "When America gets a cold, black communities get pneumonia," she said. "Because I lost my own father to the coronavirus, I see the pain and the havoc it’s wrecking on black communities in Minneapolis."
Then she delivered the telling lines about "dismantling" the "economic and political system" that is based on "profit."

IIRC, it was Bubba who sent the troops to Somalia, although not enough of them to avoid the Blackhawk Down situation. Typical of a Democrat to send troops into harm's way with inadequate numbers and firepower.
IIRC, that was when people over there were starving because of a famine and warlords were stealing UN food shipments.
You try to help them and this is what you get. But no worries. If Omar has her way, the collectivization of all those capitalist American farms will cause a famine here so there will be none left over for Somali famine relief.

[ToloNews] At least 15 murderous Moslems were killed in Afghan air and ground forces operation in northern Baghlan province on Monday night, said local officials on Tuesday.
The operation was launched on the Pul-e-Khumri — Samangan highway after the murderous Moslems attacked and blocked the highway to traffic for several hours, said Ahmad Jawid Basharat, a front man for Baghlan's police chief.
"A combination of army, National Directorate of Security ...the Afghan national intel agency... (NDS), police and police special forces have launched an operation in the highway in which 15 murderous Moslems--including their group leaders--were killed," Basharat said.
Qari Juma Gul, a key Taliban ...Arabic for students... leader is also among the dead, Basharat said, adding that the forces have pushed back the murderous Moslems from the highway and reopened to the road to traffic.
The Taliban have not yet commented over the attack.
On Monday, sources said the festivities were still ongoing in the Chashma-e-Shir area and on the outskirts of Pul-e-Khumri city, the center of Baghlan, leaving the highway closed to traffic.
The festivities started after the Taliban installed a checkpoint on Baghlan-Balkh highway in Chashma-e-Shir area and started "extorting funds from truck drivers," say sources.
Hundreds of vehicles were stranded on both sides of the highway, according to eyewitnesses and passengers.
The commander of a highway unit, Abdul Ghani Mahmoudi, said the Taliban closed the highway after launching an attack on it.
He said that Taliban fighters had hidden in civilians’ homes and there was a need for reinforcement troops to push the murderous Moslems back from the highway.
[ToloNews] At least 10 police were killed in two separate incidents in Zabul province on Monday, local officials said.
Amir Jan Alkozai, district governor for Shinkai district, said that two blasts killed six police and maimed two others.
Meanwhile, ...back at the wine tasting, Vince was about to start on his third quart... security forces in Shahr-e Safa district said that an insider attack killed four police and their checkpoint was taken by the Taliban ...Arabic for students... .
Security forces in Zabul said that the Taliban arrested three men for spying in the Ghbarga area of Qalat city of Zabul and then killed them, but the Taliban have not commented yet.
[ToloNews] Attaullah Khogyani, the Nangarhar The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country.. governor's front man, said that the Mir Zaman, the police commander in Kuz Kunar district, was killed when a jacket wallah detonated his vehicle in the district market.
Two of the commander's guards were also killed in the incident, Khogyani added.
According to Khogyani ten others were maimed in the incident.
[ToloNews] Afghans on Tuesday expressed deep concern over what they described as a dramatic surge in security threats on the country’s main highways connecting Afghanistan’s capital Kabul to other provinces.
Travelers on these highways have said that no highway is currently secure from threats.
This comes as Afghan cops are making attempts to repel threats against highways in the north and northeastern parts of the country.
The highway connecting Kabul to Pashtun-infested Logar and Paktia provinces is one of the highways where threats have significantly increased over the past weeks.
"The war constantly prevails there, they (insurgents) launch attacks on the security forces on the highway," said Sayed Sherzai, a driver in Kabul-Pashtun-infested Logar highway.
"We face three or four security incidents on the way to Gardez. There is war," said Mir Afghan, a passenger from Paktia.
"There are problems inside the city, you can't imagine the scale of problems outside the city and on the outskirts," said Naqibullah, a resident in Paktia.
Meanwhile, ...back at the chili cook-off, Chuck and Manuel's rivalry was entering a new and more dangerous phase... in the northern parts of the country, people have said that they frequently face threats on the highways.
"They (insurgents) appeared on the way and shot all the security personnel, they (insurgents) have established checkpoints and are searching the people," said Farhad, a resident in the northern part of Kabul.
"Attacks have significantly increased in the past month, casualties have been high among the army and the Taliban ...Arabic for students... ," said Parwaiz, a resident of Shakar Dara district in northern Kabul.
Baghlan-Kunduz highway faces the same situation.
"The road is blocked, they said that the Taliban has went kaboom! the road with mines, some other people say that they (Taliban) have established their customs there on the road," said Enayatullah, a driver on Kunduz-Baghlan highway.
"That is a short distance, they say that the government is unable to tackle it. If there is a government, why can't it show its power?" said Naqibullah, a driver on the Kabul-Baghlan highway.
Footage shows that the Afghan cops had a fierce battle with the Taliban on the Pul-e-Khumri--Samangan highway on Tuesday after the snuffies tried to block the road.
"Dead bodies of some of their group commanders were left on the battlefield, our special units also seized one Barrett M82 which is a powerful weapon," said Ahmad Jawed Besharat, a front man for the Baghlan police headquarters.
The Kabul-Jalalabad highway, which was once among the most secure highways, is also facing the same situation.
"They (insurgents) wanted to attack our convoys, fortunately we detected their plan through our intelligence and reconnaissance agencies," said Abdul Wali Qalandar, the commander of the Border Force on the Kabul-Jalalabad highway.
In the south, the Kabul-Kandahar highway is also among the deadliest routes where Afghan forces and the Taliban frequently engage in heavy fighting. The past government made pledges to secure the key highway connecting Kabul to the south, but no progress has been made.

[ToloNews] A blast targeted a police vehicle in Kabul city on Wednesday morning, eyewitnesses said, with "one person injured" in the earth-shattering kaboom.
The incident happened in Golaye Jamhuriat in PD11 Kabul, according to the eyewitnesses.
"We were on the way to the office and we chose to go through this area where the blast happened," said Nooruddin, a policeman who was inside the vehicle and survived.
"It was a roadside mine. There were two people in the vehicle, but we are not hurt," he said.
However, we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by... security officials have not yet commented.
No group has immediately grabbed credit for the blast.
[Jpost] Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,' security services allegedly uncovered a "dangerous plan" of Israeli intelligence "working under the cover of ISIS-affiliated cells."
Hamas arrested several Salafi "elements" in the Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... Strip under suspicion of operating for Israeli intelligence, Hezbollah-affiliated Lebanese newspaper al-Akhbar (The News) reported early Wednesday morning.
According to a "security source" cited by al-Akhbar, Hamas' security services uncovered a "dangerous plan" of Israeli intelligence "working under the cover of ISIS-affiliated cells," aimed at "directing security strikes to government and military infrastructure."
The Salafi cells allegedly planned to carry out suicide kabooms in the Gaza Strip targeting "strategic systems in the resistance." Hamas reportedly entered a "second-degree emergency" after the interrogations of those arrested allegedly concluded the plan to carry out the strikes would "be implemented soon."
The strikes, according to the source cited by al-Akhbar, were to be carried out by operatives on cycle of violences, similar to previous ISIS attacks against Hamas infrastructure in the strip. Last August, Hamas arrested an ISIS cell for directing a series of suicide kabooms against Gazook police.
The IDF denied having had any involvement in the Gazook attacks, according to Walla, as the Hamas-controlled Gazook Ministry of Interior claimed the bombings took place shortly after a Hamas skirmish with IDF troops.
In October, Hamas blamed Israel for "getting to youth with bad boy Salafi thoughts," contacting and directing them to carry out suicide kabooms against Hamas targets in August, according to al-Akhbar.
The Gazook Ministry of Interior reportedly issued a statement over the weekend, saying Hamas forces "discovered suspicious movements of a number of people," beginning "extensive investigations" leading to their arrests over the following days.
The suspects, the Hezbollah-affiliated news outlet reported, were "in the process of carrying out other sabotage actions against the resistance with direct follow-up from the intelligence of the occupation."
On Monday, Arab media reported Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh ...became Prime Minister of Gaza after the legislative elections of 2006 which Hamas won. President Mahmoud Abbas dismissed Haniyeh from office on 14 June 2007 at the height of the Fatah-Hamas festivities, but Haniyeh did not acknowledge the decree and continues as the PM of Gazoo while Abbas maintains a separate PM in the West Bank... has called on Hezbollah Secretary-General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah ...The satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb... to "unite ranks" in efforts to thwart Israel's expected annexation of areas in the West Bank.

[KhaamaPress] The Special Forces of the National Directorate of Security ...the Afghan national intel agency... (NDS) thwarted forces of Evil plot to carry out suicide kabooms in Kabul city.
According to a statement released by NDS, the Special Forces conducted a complex operation in Kabul city and arrested two would-be jacket wallahs of ISIS terrorist group.
The statement further that the suicide bombers were looking to target the health facilities and media organizations in the city.
The two suicide bombers have been identified as Lotfullah son of Abdul Latif alias Khurasani and Ahmadullah son of Ziauddin, both residents of Shakar Dara district of Kabul.
The National Directorate of Security also added that the two suicide bombers were attracted into ISIS ranks by individuals identified a Ahmad, Abu Omar and Khyber.
And everyone was so surprised that they broke their oath. Perhaps recaptured oath breakers should be marked in some way — a tattoo on their cheek or something.

[KhaamaPress] The Chairman of the Afghan Senate Fazal Hadi Moslemyar has said some of the freed Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... prisoners have returned to battlefield.
Speaking during a general session of the Upper House of Parliament, Moslemyar said a large number of Taliban prisoners who were freed by the government have returned to battlefield.
Moslemyar further added that he was not against the release of Taliban prisoners but emphasized that he is against the release of those inmates who return to battlefield.
According to Moslemyar, the majority of the murderous Moslems who were killed in Laghman ...Afghan province with a population of about 445,600, which is multi-ethnic and mostly a rural society. During the invasions of Alexander the Great, the area was known as Lampaka, wich is apparently Olde Macedonian for Laghman. The city of Mihtarlam serves as the bucolic capital of the province. He conquered it and set fire to the places in its vicinity which were inhabited by infidels, and demolishing the idol-temples, he established Islam in them, He marched and captured other cities and killed the polluted wretches, destroying the idolatrous and gratifying the Musulmans. After wounding and killing beyond all measure, his hands and those of his friends became cold in counting the value of the plundered property.
After that it was mostly notable for the production of dirt, rocks, and holy men... province on Monday were those murderous Moslems who were recently freed from the prisons.
Meanwhile, ...back at the saloon, Butch got the bill for the damage caused by the fist fight, the mirror broken in the shootout, and drinks for everyone...... Moslemyar called on United States and the Afghan government to take the issue seriously and release those murderous Moslems only who are committed to a peaceful life.
More on this story from yesterday. Possibly the Israelis had nothing to do with it, and possibly American spy squirrels were also not involved. Accidents also happen to Allah’s favoured, though of course only when he so wills.
[Jpost] A large explosion was reportedly heard in areas south of Tehran and in the Kahrizak area.
At least two people were killed and three others injured in a large explosion at the Sepahan Boresh factory in the city of Baqershahr near Tehran on Monday night, according to Iranian and foreign reports.
The explosion was caused by "negligence in filling oxygen tanks," the Kahrizak district governor told Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty on Tuesday. The walls of the Saipa Press Company, located next to the factory, were damaged by the earth-shattering kaboom as well.
"Human error was the cause of the blast in a factory ... Two people were killed and three others were maimed," said local official Amin Babai, adding that the earth-shattering kaboom happened in "an industrial zone" at Baqershahr near Tehran.
"The explosion that was caused by some workers' negligent handling of oxygen tanks.... was so powerful that the walls of a factory nearby were also totally destroyed."
A large explosion was reportedly heard by residents of areas south of Tehran and in the Kahrizak area.
The location of the earth-shattering kaboom is not far from the warehouse where Iran's nuclear archive was found by Israel in 2018, reported the IntelliTimes intelligence blog. The Saipa Press Company is located about 11 km. northeast from the area where the nuclear archive was found in the Shurabad commercial area. A warehouse where Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that nuclear equipment and material was stored is also located nearby in the Turouzabad area. The ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency found traces of uranium at the warehouse in 2019 and began investigating its origin, according to Rooters.
IntelliTimes reported that the Sepahan Boresh factory belongs to the Iranian automotive manufacturer SAIPA. It cooperates with the Iranian Ministry of Defense; the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps is involved in the company as well.
This is the third explosion reported in the Tehran region in the past two weeks and the most recent in a series of explosions and fires reported in industrial areas and infrastructure throughout Iran.

Liquid oxygen --lox--will do you a mischief even if a drop hits shoe polish. "Ain't never dull workin' 'round lox," From which I presume that pretty much anything containing carbon is a "match".
High concentrations of the gas can start something and once started, other containers under pressure give up their long term plans.
IOW, you don't need to blow the place up by bringing all the energy with you. Just enough to start something.
The question is not whether a couple of guys working on the loading dock got killed. It's what's left of the facility which will tell the tale.

[WashingtonExaminer] Stanford University's disease prevention chairman slammed using statewide lockdown measures as a response to the coronavirus, saying they were implemented based on bad data and inaccurate modeling.
“There are already more than 50 studies that have presented results on how many people in different countries and locations have developed antibodies to the virus,” Dr. John Ioannidis said during a recent interview with Greek Reporter. “Of course, none of these studies are perfect, but cumulatively, they provide useful composite evidence. A very crude estimate might suggest that about 150-300 million or more people have already been infected around the world, far more than the 10 million documented cases.”
Ioannidis pointed out the mortality rate is low among young people who have contracted the virus.
“The death rate in a given country depends a lot on the age structure, who are the people infected, and how they are managed,” Ioannidis said. “For people younger than 45, the infection fatality rate is almost 0%. For 45 to 70, it is probably about 0.05%-0.3%. For those above 70, it escalates substantially.”
Since the pandemic began in February, more than 2.6 million people in the United States have contracted the virus, and 128,000 have died.
Several states have seen spikes in cases, especially in the southeastern part of the country, where lockdown measures were lifted earlier than in other states.
The mortality rate nationwide appears to be tapering, however, a trend U.S. health officials attribute to a younger age bracket in terms of infection. The national single-day death rate from the virus fell to a three-month low last month. Additionally, Massachusetts reported zero new deaths from the coronavirus on Tuesday for the first time since March.

The famous Ioannidis. Man who build his academic career on attacking other peoples work. And, the very first time he actually did some work himself, was caught faking results. A fitting scientific authority figure for "covid is just a flue" community.

Deaths aren't everything. We still don't know what this virus will do in the future, and yes with young people. Don't bank on immunity. Survivors may suffer permanent lung damages (and other things), and the virus may come back and hit them harder.
With all respect, the U.S. is going down a very dangerous path with its cavalier approach.
Germany has 6800 active cases now, the U.S. 1.6 million. Fall in the U.S. will be brutal.

Deaths aren't everything.
Deaths will be bad enough, once the treatment capacity is overwhelmed.
But, I suspect that death/debilitation of somebody they know is the only way they'll learn that CV19 is real - not another Democratic stratagem like AGW.

[BREITBART] The father of 8-year-old Secoriea Turner took part in a presser in which he said, "They say Black Lives Matter. You killed your own."
CNN ...formerly the Cable News Network, now who knows what it might stand for... reports that 8-year-old Turner was killed Saturday night while riding with her mother, Charmaine Turner, who had a friend driving. "The driver was attempting to enter a parking lot at 1238 Pryor Road where a group of individuals illegally placed barricades. Someone in the group opened fire on the vehicle," and Turner was shot. According to the News Agency that Dare Not be Named, the shooting occurred "near Wendy’s restaurant where Rayshard Brooks was killed by a white police officer on June 12."
The father, Secoriya Williamson, stood and spoke at the presser while the girl’s mother sat next to him.
11 Alive news hound Natasha Lance posted video of Williamson speaking: "They say Black Lives Matter. You killed your own. You killed your own this time. Just because of a barrier? They killed my baby because she crossed a barrier and made a u-turn. You killed a child. She didn’t do nothing to nobody."

[BREITBART] The deadly January U.S. dronezap that eliminated Iran’s terror commander Qasem Soleimani and nine other people was a violation of international law, a U.N. human rights ...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions... investigator claimed Monday. The United States has failed to provide sufficient evidence of an ongoing or imminent attack against its interests to justify the strike on General Soleimani’s convoy as it left Baghdad airport, lamented U.N. special rapporteur Agnes Callamard a full six months after the event.
The attack violated the U.N. Charter, Callamard alleged in a report calling for accountability for assassinations by armed drones and for greater regulation of the weapons.
"The world is at a critical time, and possible tipping point, when it comes to the use of drones. ... The Security Council is missing in action; the international community, willingly or not, stands largely silent," Callamard, an independent investigator, told Rooters.
Soleimani directed Iranian military operations abroad, including terror strikes in third party states. Just one week before his death, he is thought to have directed rocket attacks that killed an American civilian contractor in Iraq.
A United Nations "scolding?" I recommend it be worn as a badge of honor.

[RADIOSHABELLE] A roadside blast and mortar attack have been reported on Tuesday in the southern lower Shabelle region, both assaults were claimed by al-Shabaab ...... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda... bully boys.

The attacked convoy was heading to Mogadishu from the region at the time.
AMISOM has not yet commented on the incident.

[FoxNews] Six men were arrested after Dutch police discovered sea containers that had been converted into a makeshift prison and sound-proofed “torture chamber” complete with a dentist’s chair, tools, including pliers and scalpels, and handcuffs, a high-ranking officer announced Tuesday. "Is it safe?"
Authorities said police conducted the raid before the torture chamber could be used and alerted potential victims, who went into hiding.
The grisly discovery was made last month by officers investigating leads generated by data from encrypted phones used by criminals. The communications network was cracked recently by French police.
Detectives in Britain and the Netherlands have already arrested hundreds of suspects based on the encrypted messages.
Tuesday’s announcement gave a chilling insight into the increasingly violent Dutch criminal underworld, which is involved in the large-scale production and trafficking of drugs.
Dutch police said last week that their investigations, code-named 26Lemont, based on millions of messages from the EncroChat phones, had led to the arrest of more than 100 suspects and seizure of more than 17,600 pounds of cocaine and 2,600 pounds of crystal meth as well as the dismantling of 19 synthetic drugs labs and seizure of dozens of firearms.
On June 22, Dutch national police force officers arrested six men on suspicion of crimes, including preparing kidnappings and serious assault.
Detectives also discovered the seven converted sea containers in a warehouse in Wouwse Plantage, a small village in the southwestern Netherlands, close to the border with Belgium, according to a statement released Tuesday.

[The Aviationist] Narrated by (Brigadier General and) actor James Stewart, this 1960s film documents the many records of the Mach 2+ supersonic bomber.
Powered by four General Electric J79 engines in underwing pods and designed around a large delta wing, the Convair B-58 Hustler was the first operational bomber capable of flying at Mach 2. The aircraft was developed in the 1950s for the Strategic Air Command (SAC) of the U.S. Air Force, made its first flight on Nov. 11, 1956, and entered the active service in March 1960. It operated throughout the 1960s flying with the 43rd Bombardment Wing, at Carswell Air Force Base, Texas; and the 305th Bombardment Wing at Bunker Hill AFB, Indiana (later renamed Grissom AFB, after after Lt. Col. Virgil I. "Gus" Grissom, USAF, a native of Mitchell, Indiana, one of the original seven Mercury astronauts who lost his life in the fire of his Apollo 1 capsule during a pre-launch rehearsal at Cape Kennedy, Florida, in January 1967).
Convair built 116 B-58s: 30 test and pre-production aircraft and 86 for operational service.
The problem with the B-58 was that instruments were aided with a voice alarm system. It was a bunch of 8-Track like tape cartridges with no priority system so it might be nattering about wind speed on some aileron while you just lost an engine. By the time that message came up you likely had crashed.
Because it was instrumented this way... if any in the boneyards are in flyable shape it shouldn't be too hard to make them drones.

In the 1960's I had a red plastic toy shaped like the B-58.
I never knew what the toy was a copy of until now.
I spent many hours as a child flying the toy as a fighter through the home with full jet engine and doppler sound effects.
I did not know it was a nuclear bomber.

Notice if you will, the complete absence of the term "money laundering." Oh yes, and then there's the almost laughable "German banker lack of oversight" and attention to detail. If you have made some sort of mental connection between these foreign transactions and intelligence source operations, you are obviously a deranged conspiracy theorist.
All tidy and cleaned up now for a paltry $150. Financial 'damage control,' amazing, isn't it ?
New York regulators faulted Deutsche Bank for a lack of oversight, saying the bank ignored a wide variety of red flags after taking on Epstein's accounts in 2013 despite him previously pleading guilty to prostitution-related charges involving a minor.
Among the suspicious Deutsche Bank transactions, according to DFS:
Numerous payments to alleged Epstein co-conspirators who aided in his sexual abuse
Nearly $7 million in settlement cost, as well as $6 million in legal costs for Epstein and his co-conspirators
Various payments to Russian models and women with eastern European names, as well as rent and tuition payments
More than $800,000 in cash withdrawals over four years
When Epstein was charged with sex trafficking in 2019, he was accused of systematically grooming and abusing young women, many of them minors. His close associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, was arrested last week on federal charges accusing her of rounding up young women for Epstein's sex-trafficking operation.
One of his bank accounts, belonging to an Epstein trust known as "The Butterfly Trust," made regular payments to three co-conspirators and a number of women with eastern European names.
When Deutsche Bank inquired about the payments, Epstein and his team said the payments were to employees and friends. The bank at the time was aware that payments were made to one person who was previously accused but never charged as a co-conspirator, but still approved the transactions, according to the settlement.
The settlement, known as a "consent order," was signed by New York regulators and representatives of Deutsche Bank and its affiliates.

"deranged conspiracy theorist." O.K. But recently, there have been far too many conspiracies theories proven to be actual conspiracies.
$150 million. Epstein, a simple math teacher who became an investment genius was juggling large amounts of money. He had little St. James Island. He had the ranch in New Mexico where he was promoting eugenics and trying to breed super humans. He had the largest apartment in New York. All these were worth millions.
But the kicker is that he only had one billionaire client in Ohio.

[BREITBART] Monday, Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson opened his show by giving President Donald Trump ...Oh, noze! Not him!... ’s speech at Mount Rushmore in South Dakota high marks. He then pointed to the Democrat backlash and concluded that Democrats and their allies in the media hate the country.
He alluded to remarks made by presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden ...When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened.'... and Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) to bolster that point. Carlson then posed the question: Could the left in America lead a country that it hates?
"So what to make of all of this," Carlson said. "It’s long been considered out-of-bounds to question a person’s patriotism. It’s a very strong charge, and we try not ever to make it. But in the face of all of this, the conclusion can’t be avoided — these people actually hate America. There’s no longer a question about that. And yet paradoxically, at the same time, they desperately want to control America more than anything. And that leads to the most basic of all questions: Can you really lead a country that you hate? Ask yourself, what kind of parent would you be if you hated your children?"
"What kind of officer would you make if you didn’t care about your troops?" he continued. "It would be awful. The results would be ugly. It would not work. Loving the people you lead, caring deeply about them is the basic prerequisite of leadership. The leaders of today’s Democratic Party do not. They despise this country. They have said so. They continue to. That is shocking, but it is also disqualifying. We cannot let them run this nation because they hate it. Imagine what they would do to it."

The Arab town, from which Ottoman Turkish-backed forces last October pushed out the YPG militia in a major campaign spearheaded by the Ottoman Turkish army, has seen a series of car blasts that have killed dozens of civilians. The attack was carried out with a boom-mobile and maimed civilians were treated in hospitals on both sides of the border, according to a statement by the governor's office in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... The governor's office said 17 people were maimed in the attack.

With China pushing troops and ships to re-establish the Heavenly Kingdom, be it noted that at one time what we call North Korea was also under direct rule of China. The southern part was classified as vassal, sending the appropriate gifts and tokens of recognition. Between dynasties, the arrangement and borders tended to vary.

[AmericanThinker] This article gives everybody it reaches the power to send BLM, along with its political, academic, and corporate supporters, crashing down in total ruin. This material, all of which readers and other interested parties can verify independently from the links — you don't have to take my word for it — also has the potential to demolish the credibility of ActBlue, the Democrats' key fundraising organization, and the left-leaning Thousand Currents organization. This material is, to be quite blunt, what Kryptonite is to Superman, Valyrian Steel is to the White Walkers in Game of Thrones, and a cross is to Dracula. The issue consists simply of BLM's apparent misuse of 501(c)(3) tax-exempt money to influence the November election.
An inaccurate story has been circulating to the effect that Black Lives Matter is working with ActBlue to launder money that goes to Democratic candidates. Open Secrets explains, "A donation to BLM through ActBlue goes just to BLM, not any other group." ActBlue is itself not 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, so there's nothing more to see here, is there, folks?
There is actually plenty to see, and the real truth is far worse than the debunked rumor. While ActBlue is not 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, therefore it has considerable leeway about what it does with its money, ActBlue Charities, which accepts donations for the Black Lives Global Network (the entity that apparently controls Blacklivesmatter.com) is. Thousand Currents, which is BLM's fiscal sponsor, also is 501(c)(3) tax-exempt. BLM is openly using its website to campaign against President Trump. Web pages hosted by ActBlue Charities and Thousand Currents also attack Trump, so these entities will have trouble saying "we did not know."
We need to clarify before we proceed that BLM Global Network is emphatically not BLM Foundation, the noncontroversial organization founded by Robert Ray Barnes. BLM Global Network is represented at BlackLivesMatter.com, the same website linked by Thousand Currents and which collects donations via ActBlue Charities. The fact that the first Google result for "Black Lives Matter Foundation" links to BLM Global Network's About page* suggests to me that the latter organization is using the name of Barnes's organization to mislead internet users into visiting BlackLivesMatter.com instead and possibly donate money under the mistaken belief that they are supporting Barnes's far less controversial organization. This tells me plenty, and nothing good, about the ethics of BLM Global Network. For the purpose of further discussion, "BLM" means BLM Global Network and not BLM Foundation.
The steps of the argument — supporting material at the link:
501(c)(3) Money Cannot be Used to Influence an Election
BLM Global Network is Openly Campaigning against Trump
ActBlue Charities' and Thousand Currents' Own Roles
These are but three of many examples, and you can find more yourself with a Google search on site:ActBlue.com and "Trump." Be sure, however, to pay attention to only the pages that say "ActBlue Charities" and cite 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status at the bottom. ActBlue also has a non-tax-exempt arm that has far more leeway as to what it can do to influence an election.
Widespread publicity for these issues should collapse the Democrat left's center of gravity to deliver an electoral landslide in November. "Woke" virtue-signaling corporations that have supported BLM Global Network will scramble desperately to pretend that they never heard of it.

Yet another proof of how knowingly hollow the democrat photo-ops s about “nation of laws” and “”no one is above the law “ really are. The infestation of the federal civil service and particularly the DOJ and IRS is massive. Laws are merely tools for selective use to enforce the will of the socialist elites who now govern much of our nation. The next chapter of a kinetic replay of 1860 seems to loom large of late with a Mason-Dixon Line along Cold War ideology.

Panic-buyers strip supermarket shelves in Melbourne as the Australian city of five million people prepares for six-week lockdown
Nuts. Home delivery systems were set up during the first round, manufacturing will once again be deemed critical so it can continue to replenish depleted stocks... and why are those people not maintaining pantry inventory against exactly this kind of situation?
“It’s nothing personal — that’s just how those people are. Everyone knows this.”
[ESPN] Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson said he has no hatred toward the Jewish community and issued two separate statements of apology with "a promise to do better" after he posted on social media Monday an anti-Semitic message that he attributed to Adolf Hitler and admiration for Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan.
The Eagles on Tuesday responded by calling Jackson's posts "offensive, harmful and absolutely appalling" and said the team would take "appropriate action." Team owner Jeffrey Lurie and general manager Howie Roseman are Jewish.
Of course he didn’t mean them. He meant all the other Joooos, but definitely not them — they’re princes among men.
Jackson spoke with Lurie late Tuesday afternoon, a source told ESPN's Tim McManus, with Lurie expressing deep disappointment in his player. Jackson expressed a desire to educate himself and work directly with the Jewish community, and a short time later, his camp contacted the rabbi at Chabad Young Philly to discuss ways for Jackson to donate and work with the organization.
The controversy spun out of Jackson's Instagram story, on which he featured a quote he attributed to Hitler that said white Jews "will blackmail America. [They] will extort America, their plan for world domination won't work if the Negroes know who they were."
He also shared two posts on Instagram -- on Saturday and on Monday -- expressing admiration for Farrakhan, whom the Anti-Defamation League and Southern Poverty Law Center have identified as anti-Semitic. Those posts have since been deleted.
"We have spoken with DeSean Jackson about his social media posts," the Eagles said in their statement. "Regardless of his intentions, the messages he shared were offensive, harmful, and absolutely appalling. They have no place in our society, and are not condoned or supported in any way by the organization.
"We are disappointed and we reiterated to DeSean the importance of not only apologizing, but also using his platform to take action to promote unity, equality, and respect. We are continuing to evaluate the circumstances and will take appropriate action. We take these matters very seriously and are committed to continuing to have productive and meaningful conversations with DeSean, as well as all of our players and staff, in order to educate, learn, and grow."
Jackson also spoke with Roseman, a source told McManus. No discussion of a suspension or termination has been raised with Jackson to this point, a source added. [Of course.]
[Jpost] Holocaust survivor Edward Mosberg has extended an invitation to Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson to visit Auschwitz, following the latter's controversial Instagram post quoting Adolf Hitler. The invitation was posted on Twitter by From the Depths, an organization that seeks to protect the memory of the Holocaust, of which Mosberg is honorary chairman.

A member of this council was racist and I did nothing and I'm ashamed I did nothing and I can sit here during a public meeting and say I'm sorry, I made a mistake, I didn't speak out verbally when multiple times during the meeting one of the members engaged in behavior that made me ache and hurt for the non-white people that were logged in."
What was the offensive behavior?
Said council member, during the meeting, had a family member visiting, with a child "of color" (his nephew/a family friend – it isn't clear), as they say, and held that child on his lap during the meeting, saying "my living room is integrated."

As a noob reporter I covered a lot of school board meetings. People unqualified to be dog catcher or sewer authority board member often serve on school boards.

School boards remind me of the olden days when military ranks were purchased. That second or third son given a purpose in life beyond his capacities. Not that having 'education professionals' run the place would do it any better. School choice and let the market decide.

My family has been described as a 'United Nations Family', Blacks, Whites, Asians, Native Americans, Inuit, and so one.
My nephew's wife, a sweet 6'1" robust African-American, would have gutted this women like a deer had she said something disparaging about me holding my cute grand-niece on my lap.
And yes, she's a hunter and knows how to do that.

The leftist ideology is racist and would put people in those separate races into a caste system.
They want to bring everything back that we fought so hard to eradicate.

That's basically what happens now. The school board usually rubber stamps what the superintendent asks for and there are usually several board members who are also working or retired teachers who always vote the union line.

The social justice warriors always impart the worst of motives to everyone except themselves; and they come up lacking. They have tried to set themselves up as the arbiters of morality for the rest of us. This young women ought to shut up and watch and listen more.

One has to understand that these communist campaigns are never about the purported issues.
The goal is to keep the populace in a permanent state of terror and insecurity.
Even if the subject of a totalitarian regime meticulously obeys the draconian and unjust rules he can never be secure in any rights and assets, however meager.
This is always about total obedience brought on by permanent terror.
This is why discussing the merits of communist complaints is futile.
As long as the regime hasn't been established in earnest, the proper counter strategy is uncompromising defiance by unapologetically exercising each and every civil and human right.
They're just a bunch of sadistic megalomaniacs demanding absolute power, and our absolute submission.

[AJC] It’s hard to stand out when you are in a sea of thousands of frustrated, sign-waving protesters. But in marches and demonstrations over the past week in Atlanta, Decatur and even Cumming, a small knot of charismatic young people kept getting photographed.
They said they were Black Panthers, and they looked the part with all-black attire and black berets adorned with a cat-head patch. Their leader was a tall, thin black woman armed with an assault rifle and a determined look. Photos of the group popped up in local news outlets, including The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, but also in the British tabloid press.
Within a few days, an activist on Twitter sussed out that the group was comprised of models and actors from Atlanta’s film and entertainment industries. A Twitter user who goes by Wolf The Red identified them from their Instagram accounts where he found the group modeling haute couture or publicizing their film credits, but "zero prior demonstrations. No posts with guns. No calls to action."
Many are asking why hasn’t oil and gas production started in libya. Because a week ago The CEO of the NOC Mustafa Sanalah said : there will be now equal distribution of wealth in libya & all funds will go to Tripoli. The combination of rig hands who dwell along a spectrum of disgruntled to highly disgruntled, feuding land/mineral/surface owners, sticky fingered locals, and 'quirky' leo's is always a recipe for abundant gun play. But even I would draw the line at indirect fire and air strikes.
Writing for The National Lampoon before writing for Hollywood and making actual money. Turns out he was an ugly bigot the whole time. "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." Or perhaps it was the usual National Lampoon juvenile humour.

Eastwood's Gran Torino was rich in language and faux bigotry. Very humorous but not PC for today's social justice warriors; OTOH, they have no sense of humor. They panned this film.

[Just The News] New York officials issue a report this week concluding that the high number of coronavirus deaths in state care facilities was the result of infected workers, not sick residents, spreading the contagion.
New York has face sharp criticism over the past several months for its policy of allowing COVID-19-positive patients to return to nursing homes before they were declared free of the virus.
Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the state policy of allowing residents to return to elderly-care facilities was in line with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. However, PolitiFact in May rated that claim "mostly false," pointing out the state appeared to pressure nursing homes to take COVID-19 patients regardless of whether they could properly house them.
The report by the New York Department of Health states that "an analysis of the timing between known nursing home staff infections and nursing home fatalities indicates that they are correlated." It also states that "the peak number of nursing home staff reporting COVID-19 symptoms occurred 23 days prior to the date of the peak nursing home fatalities."
The data "does not support [the] assertion" that infected patients were the spreaders of the disease, the department argues.
"Nursing home resident fatalities peaked on April 8, 2020," the report also states. "The peak of nursing home admissions from hospitals did not occur until April 14, 2020, a week after peak nursing home fatalities — suggesting the policy was not the cause."
The report also finds that "most patients readmitted to nursing homes were likely not infectious," claiming that they would likely have spent enough time in the hospital to have entered a non-infectious stage of the disease.
Data also "do not show a consistent relationship between admissions and increased mortality," the report says, adding that "there were cases where nursing homes did not admit any COVID-positive patients, yet still had a high number of COVID-related deaths."
The report states that any staff who spread the disease did so "through no fault of their own," insofar as they would have been unaware they were infectious while working.
#Morocco arrests four alleged members of a “terrorist cell” linked to #ISIS who were plotting to attack “sensitive sites” in the kingdom, according to the interior ministry.https://t.co/PQBP5mT6cA
— Al Arabiya English (@AlArabiya_Eng) July 7, 2020
The men, aged between 21 and 26, were arrested in the northeastern city of Nador, said a ministry statement.
The suspects, “including the brother of a fighter of Daesh,” the Arabic acronym for ISIS, a terrorist group, had been “in close contact” with members of another cell dismantled in December in a joint operation with Spain, it said.

The driver is jailed on $1.2 million bond and has not actually been charged yet. I have no idea how that works, I assume it's an error in the reporting in article I saw.

^ From what I read, the judge is holding him while they verify the evidence for a charge.
Which should be illegal, IMHO. The state can't hold you without a charge, but it may actually be best for this guy as I'm sure the BLM people would try to kill him.

Passing through VA, we stayed at a four star resort outside of Richmond because we wanted to avoid their mostly peaceful protests. The room was $89/night.
Had hoped to tour Richmond, but nope, now its just another third world shithole.
Couldnt get out of VA fast enough to return to civilization.
