Cocaine really messes with the reasoning part of the brain development.
Not to mention the financial support given to the terrorists and drug runners buying these drugs.

#10 A thought occured to me. What if Britney didn't want her kid(s)... Maybe she wanted the freedom to try to get her career back. Maybe she knew she'd look awful if she didn't fight for the kid.

Nobody in their right mind would give the kid to Kfed normally, but, if Britney had a meltdown that would change. She could get sympathy for her drug problems, sympathy for her meltdown, sympathy for losing custody and then when she finally did the big come-back album all the Phoenix rising from the ashes headlines would be no-brainers. Even if the album sucked she'd get good press.

Maybe I'm too cynical. Maybe I should work PR for flailing stars.

#11 An addict or an alcoholic is a tremendous burden and punishment for everyone around one including the alcoholic. Every family or group of friends has had been exposed to some kind of addict/alcoholic drama in their lives.

#12 The problems with both drugs and alcohol is that they can cause problems even months after you quit using them. I know first-hand what fetal alcohol syndrome looks like, and like TT said, it's not something pleasant to deal with. I hope whoever has custody of Britney's kids socks away a few mil for later - they're going to need it.
